Rian Johnson's Glass Onion sends Benoit Blanc to a private island in Greece where tech billionaire Miles Bron has assembled his inner circle for a murder mystery weekend. The murder mystery becomes real, as it must, and Craig's Southern-drawled detective peels back layers of loyalty and betrayal among people who got rich together and now resent each other for it. Johnson wrote the script during COVID lockdown, and the film's interest in how wealth isolates people from consequences feels like it came from that period.

The Omega Seamaster 1948 on Blanc's wrist is a deliberate character choice. Omega released the 1948 in 2018 as a heritage reissue marking the Seamaster line's seventieth anniversary. The version Craig wears is the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Small Seconds, 38mm in steel, limited to 1,948 pieces (one for each year the original line began). It has a domed sapphire crystal, leaf-shaped hands, an opaline silver dial with applied Arabic numerals, and a small seconds subdial at six o'clock. No dive bezel, no date window, no luminous plots visible at arm's length. It looks like a dress watch from the Truman administration, which is exactly how Blanc presents himself: old-fashioned, slightly eccentric, and easy to underestimate.
