Kris "Tanto" Paronto was a former US Army Ranger working private security in Benghazi in September 2012, one of the six-man Annex team that drove to the diplomatic compound the night it came under attack. Pablo Schreiber plays him in Michael Bay's 13 Hours, and like nearly every contractor on screen he wears a Casio G-Shock.

The film is full of G-Shocks. The most visible one has been identified: John Krasinski's character, Jack Silva, wears the G-7900-1, a model from Casio's G-RESCUE line with a tide graph, moon-phase data, and oversized buttons made to be worked with gloves. Other operators wear different G-Shocks, among them a sand-beige GA100SD-8A. The coverage never settles which one is on Schreiber's wrist.

The men who fought in Benghazi were private contractors rather than active-duty military, a distinction the film keeps in view, and Schreiber built his version of Paronto with the real man's help.
