Le Chiffre is the Bond villain who weeps blood from a scarred tear duct and banks money for terrorists. Mads Mikkelsen plays him in Casino Royale (2006) as a private financier to the world's worst clients, a man who has gambled their money on a failed stock manipulation and has to win it back at a high-stakes poker table in Montenegro before they come to collect. Martin Campbell directed the film as a reboot, stripping Bond back to his first mission, and Mikkelsen gives 007 an opponent who is already losing before the first card is dealt.

The watch is a Longines Evidenza Chronograph, reference L2.656.4.53.6: a tonneau steel case on a steel bracelet, with a black dial, three black subdials, Arabic numerals, and a quartz movement. The barrel shape stands out at the poker table, reading very differently from the round Omega on Bond's wrist. Both Longines and Omega belong to the Swatch Group, so the villain and the hero are, in a way, wearing watches from the same family.
