Keanu Reeves wears a Carl F. Bucherer Manero AutoDate

Santino D'Antonio arrives at John Wick's door holding a marker, the medallion that records a blood oath, and John Wick: Chapter 2 (2017) is the price of it: Wick is bound to go to Rome and assassinate Santino's own sister. The job gets done, the betrayal follows, and the film ends with Wick executing Santino inside the Continental and Winston forced to declare him excommunicado. Through all of it, on Wick's left wrist, rides the same watch he wore in the 2014 original: a Carl F. Bucherer Manero AutoDate, the 38mm steel one with a white dial and a black alligator strap, reference 00.10908.08.13.01.

The placement is about as official as placements get. Carl F. Bucherer's chief executive, Sascha Moeri, announced that "our handcrafted fine timepieces are featured on the wrist of Keanu Reeves and throughout the movie John Wick: Chapter 2," and the director, Chad Stahelski, is a Carl F. Bucherer brand ambassador himself. Wick wears the Manero with the case turned to the inside of his wrist, and the Brooklyn Bridge still on this record shows exactly that: his left hand hanging at his side in the bloodied white shirt, the alligator strap visible, the steel case rotated inward toward his body. Reeves kept the brand on at the premiere too, in a 47mm Patravi TravelTec on his own time.
