Brad Gurdlinger stands next to a life-sized ice sculpture, goggles pushed up on his forehead, looking pleased with himself. This is the kind of drug dealer who thinks he is an artist. Ed Helms plays the role in Rawson Marshall Thurber's We're the Millers (2013) as a cheerful sociopath in expensive casual wear — the vest, the scarf, the studied messiness of it all. Brad forces Jason Sudeikis's small-time pot dealer into a smuggling run across the Mexican border, and he does it with the friendliness of a man who genuinely does not understand why other people find him threatening.
His watch appears gold-toned on a metal bracelet, visible but not identifiable. It fits Brad's character. He is a man who buys nice things because he can, not because he has taste. The costume department put thought into Brad's look: everything about him says money that arrived recently and has no idea how to behave.
