Bugzy Malone wears a CWC Cabot Falcon

Guy Ritchie's Operation Fortune (2023) is a spy caper, and the rapper Bugzy Malone, born Aaron Davis, plays JJ Davies, the comms man on Orson Fortune's team. On his wrist is a CWC Pilots Chronograph, a quartz aviation chronograph from Cabot Watch Company, the British firm that has been making issue watches for the Ministry of Defence since 1972. A steel case, sub-dials for timing, a plain readable dial. It is the kind of watch handed out rather than sold.

CWC noticed it was there. The company put out a note that Operation Fortune carries three of its watches at once: JJ's pilots chronograph, the villain Mike's SBS diver on Peter Ferdinando, and a CWC Sonar on Cary Elwes. A small British maker of military tool watches, threaded quietly through a Guy Ritchie cast. The film never stops on any of them. They are just what these people would wear.
