Walton Goggins wears a Timex Q GMT

The watch on Rick Hatchett's wrist costs a little over two hundred dollars, close to the cheapest thing at a five-star Thai resort. Walton Goggins plays Rick in the third season of The White Lotus, a tanned, brooding guest who flew to Thailand not to unwind but to confront the man he blames for his father's death.

The watch is a Timex Q GMT, reference TW2W57500, a 38mm quartz reissue from the line Timex builds to echo its own 1970s catalog. The dial reads "GMT Quartz Since 1972," and the caseback still carries the screw-down battery hatch from the original Q. The bezel is the tell. Its green and black halves copy the colorway Rolex put on the GMT-Master II in 2022, the one collectors call the Sprite, and by prop master Michael Cory's account the Q keeps "a Rolex styling to it." It is a two-hundred-dollar Timex dressed as a steel sports Rolex, worn by the one guest who could not buy the real one.

By Cory's account the pairing was almost luck. He could not place Rick until Goggins was cast, then phoned the actor, who sent photos of watches he owned and liked, and the two of them settled on the Q. GQ reported the quieter detail: the watch Goggins wears in life these days is a gold Rolex Day-Date, the same model the show gives the wealthy Ratliff parents. The star wears the Rolex. His character gets the copy.
