The camera finds Thad Luckinbill in a bright kitchen, one hand on his hip, a steel watch riding the wrist and catching the light. He plays Kyle McManus, a CIA senior case officer and an old friend of Joe, the CIA officer Zoe Saldana plays at the head of the Lioness team. McManus is the show's cowboy. He borrows Joe's operators when he needs muscle and runs rescues across the Mexican border, and they tend to end in gunfire. After one of them, the retrieval of a kidnapped congresswoman, Joe punches him for risking her life.
Luckinbill played J.T. Hellstrom on The Young and the Restless for eleven years, from 1999 to 2010, before he moved behind the camera. In 2013 he and his twin brother Trent co-founded Black Label Media, and in 2015 the company produced Sicario, written by Taylor Sheridan. Sheridan created Lioness. Luckinbill now acts for the writer whose breakout thriller he helped finance.
The watch on his wrist is a steel sports piece on a steel bracelet, a dark dial under a polished case, and it stays unidentified. MTM does have him on record. On its media page the brand lists Luckinbill among the Lioness cast it outfitted for the second season, beside Saldana and Nicole Kidman, and credits him with the Black Silencer, a blacked-out watch from its Special Ops line that runs analog hands over a digital readout, carries a compass bezel, and seals to 330 feet. None of that is the watch in this scene. What he wears here is plain steel.
