Matthias Schweighöfer wears a Casio DBC-611-1CR

Matthias Schweighöfer directed Army of Thieves and stars in it as Ludwig Dieter, a meek German bank teller who runs a YouTube channel about safecracking and gets pulled into a crew robbing a set of legendary safes across Europe. The safes are named for Wagner's Ring Cycle, Rheingold and Valkyrie and Siegfried, and the film treats cracking them as something close to a sacred art. It is a prequel to Zack Snyder's Army of the Dead, and Dieter is the one character who walks out of this movie and into that one.

On his wrist is the right watch for him: a Casio Data Bank, the silver calculator watch with a tiny keypad and a memory for phone numbers, a design Casio has sold since the 1980s. Costume sites peg it as the DBC-611, the classic steel-bracelet version that sells today for about fifty dollars. On screen it reads as a small silver rectangle with a digital face and a metal band.

No watch magazine has written it up. The DBC-611 is too cheap and too common for that world, so every identification of Dieter's watch comes from a costume or shop-the-look site rather than a watch publication. For a character who taught himself to crack safes off the internet, that feels about right.
