Jim Caviezel plays Willard Hobbes, the warden of an off-the-books prison called the Tomb, built to hold men who are not supposed to exist. Escape Plan (2013), directed by Mikael Hafstrom, was the first film to co-star Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger as leads, and Hobbes is the cold administrator their characters are trying to break out from under.

The crowdsourced site Spotern identifies Hobbes's watch as a Patek Philippe 5970P, the platinum version of Patek's perpetual calendar chronograph, produced only between 2004 and 2011. No watch publication, auction record, or brand source repeats the claim, and the watch is not clearly visible in the stills available, so the identification rests on that single weak source. What can be said with more confidence is the category: if it is the 5970P, it is one of the most complicated wristwatches Patek made for sale in that period, tracking the date, day, month, moon phase, and leap-year cycle alongside a chronograph.
