Sanctum, executive-produced by James Cameron and shot in 3D, drops a cave-diving expedition into a flooded system in Papua New Guinea. Ioan Gruffudd plays Carl, the financier who funds the trip and comes along. Early on, before the descent, he checks his watch on a busy street: a chunky steel chronograph on a steel bracelet.

What exactly it is takes some squinting. It has been logged as a Breitling Superocean, but that does not match what is on screen. The watch in the clear shot is a chronograph, with three subdials and a rotating bezel, not the plain three-hand Superocean diver. The busy dial reads like a Breitling, and the nearest fit in the range would be the Superocean Chronograph, but the brand name is not legible and no watch-spotting source documents it. The only citation on file was Breitling's own product page, which says nothing about the film. The brand is a reasonable guess; the exact model is not.
