George Clooney wears a Hamilton Linwood Viewmatic

George Clooney plays Danny Ocean in Steven Soderbergh's Ocean's Eleven, a thief fresh out of prison who assembles an eleven-man crew to rob three Las Vegas casinos in a single night. Hamilton has turned up in films since Shanghai Express in 1932, and Danny's watch is one of the more visible recent examples.

Through the planning and the dressed-up scenes, Danny wears a Hamilton Linwood Viewmatic, a round 38mm steel dress watch with a textured silver dial, gold-toned hands, and a date at three o'clock. It is an automatic, and the Viewmatic name refers to the exhibition caseback that shows the movement running. Despite the vintage styling, it was a current Hamilton model in 2001, retailing for around 375 dollars. For the heist itself, Danny and several of the crew switch to an all-black Luminox dive watch, a more practical choice than a dress watch for a night of work.
