In Leviathan, Justin Jones works a piece of machinery with both hands, and a round watch rides the wrist on the tool. Ernie Hudson plays Jones, one of the crew on the ocean floor in George Cosmatos's 1989 undersea horror, the film that strands a deep-sea mining team with a creature loose in a station a mile down.
Jones is part of the salvage crew that hauls up the wreck of a sunken Soviet ship, the Leviathan, and unknowingly brings home the mutagen hidden in its stores. Hudson plays him in coveralls and a headband rather than a proton pack, doing the unglamorous job of keeping the machinery alive while the crew thins out around him.
The watch is a dark sport watch on a plain strap, caught mid-task and never held long enough to read, so its brand goes unidentified. Leviathan reached theaters in March 1989, three months before Ghostbusters II, so Hudson spent that year on two very different crews, one fighting slime above ground and one fighting it a mile under the sea.
