A View to a Kill (1985) was Roger Moore's last outing as James Bond, directed by John Glen, and Christopher Walken plays the villain, Max Zorin, a coldly precise industrialist and the product of wartime genetic experiments who schemes to wipe out Silicon Valley by triggering a flood. Seiko was the film's watch partner, putting its quartz pieces on Bond himself, and Zorin wears one too.

On Walken's wrist through the film is a gold Seiko chronograph, identified by Bond-watch collectors as the 7A38-7000, reference SAA008J. Seiko's 7A38 movement arrived in 1984 as a development of the 7A28, the analog quartz chronograph caliber the brand had launched the year before, adding a day and date to the dial.
