Bill Paxton's Simon is a magnificent fraud. In a trailer dressed up to look like a spy's safe house, he tells Jamie Lee Curtis's Helen Tasker that he is a secret agent whose life is in constant danger. None of it is true. He sells used cars. As he pours her a drink, a watch on a metal bracelet shows on his wrist, the dial lost to glare; a style breakdown identifies it as a Casio AMW320, an analog-digital sport watch. The act collapses when a real secret agent turns up to question him, and his nerve goes with it. That agent is Helen's husband.
