A vintage-styled watch on a character who is himself a copy of someone from an earlier era. Yahya Abdul-Mateen II plays the new Morpheus in The Matrix Resurrections, not the original Laurence Fishburne version but a program built from memory, reconstructed inside the simulation. Lana Wachowski dressed him in a Hamilton Intra-Matic Auto Chrono, a panda-dial chronograph designed to look like it came from the 1960s. The parallel is probably intentional.
Hamilton has supplied watches to the Matrix franchise since the beginning, and the Intra-Matic is one of its heritage pieces, a modern automatic movement inside a case shape borrowed from the 1960s catalog. On a character who exists as a nostalgic echo of someone else, it fits better than a contemporary design would.
