Between Star Trek: The Wrath of Khan and Star Trek III: The Search for Spock, William Shatner took a detour through the Alpha Beta Lunar Base. He plays Commander Buck Murdock in Ken Finkleman's Airplane II: The Sequel (1982), a character who runs a Moon-based mission control with the same overblown authority Kirk brings to the Enterprise bridge. The film is not as good as the original — the Zucker brothers had nothing to do with it — but Shatner is the best thing in it, committing to the absurdity with total sincerity.

His watch is clearly visible as he gives a thumbs-up: a dark-dialed piece on a stainless steel bracelet with what appears to be a rotating bezel. It looks like a dive watch, possibly from Shatner's personal collection. He has been photographed wearing both a Rolex Submariner and an Omega Speedmaster, and the watch here is consistent with either brand's early 1980s lineup. The specific make and model haven't been confirmed.
