Late in Focus (2015), Nicky Spurgeon turns up at a racetrack in sunglasses and a fitted black shirt, a tablet in his hand, moving among the sponsors and crew like he belongs there. Will Smith plays Spurgeon, a veteran con artist, opposite Margot Robbie as the younger thief he takes under his wing. The film, written and directed by Glenn Ficarra and John Requa, spends as much time on the mechanics of a con as on the romance.

On his wrist is a Piaget Polo FortyFive Chronograph. Piaget built its name on thin gold dress watches, so this was a departure: launched in 2009, it was the brand's first watch in titanium, a 45mm sports chronograph with a fluted bezel, descended from the gold Polo that Yves Piaget introduced in 1979. The chronograph runs Piaget's in-house 880P, a flyback caliber that also carries a second time zone. The FortyFive in the name is the case diameter.

Will Smith has worn the Polo FortyFive off screen as well, which Wrist Enthusiast points out, so Nicky's watch doubles as the actor's own taste. For a con man who spends the movie dressed to look like money, a titanium Piaget this size is a sensible costume.
