Wendell Pierce wears a Hamilton American Classic

James Gunn directed Superman (2025), the first film in the rebooted DC Universe, a title he shortened from the working name Superman: Legacy before filming began. David Corenswet plays Clark Kent, Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane, and Wendell Pierce plays Perry White, the editor-in-chief of the Daily Planet, a role held on screen before him by Jackie Cooper in the Christopher Reeve films and Laurence Fishburne in Man of Steel.

Perry White wears a Hamilton American Classic Boulton, reference H13431553, the small rectangular dress watch Hamilton first produced in 1941 and still sells today, here in a yellow-gold-tone case with a white dial and serif numerals. On a newspaper editor it fits. Perry White does not wear a dive watch or a chronograph. He runs a newsroom, and a small gold dress watch reads as someone who has been doing the job long enough to own a real one and feels no need to prove anything with it.
