The only Tudor in Tom Cruise's filmography, and it had been on the market for seven months when it reached the set. Tudor released the Heritage Chrono ref. M70330N-0006 at Baselworld in March 2010. Brad Bird began principal photography on Ghost Protocol in October that same year. The watch was still a novelty when it went on Ethan Hunt's wrist.

The Heritage Chrono borrowed its aesthetic from Tudor's 1970s Monte Carlo chronographs, with angular subdial frames and orange accents against a black dial. The 42mm case wears large, and the overall effect is sportier than anything Hunt had worn before. It is visible during the sandstorm chase sequence and again resting on a bathroom counter, suggesting Hunt actually removes it before showering, a small continuity detail that someone on set paid attention to.

Tudor in 2010 was not yet the brand it would become. The Black Bay had not launched. The in-house movement had not arrived. The Heritage Chrono was Tudor's first serious bid for collector attention in decades, and landing it on Cruise's wrist in a billion-dollar franchise was exactly the kind of exposure the brand needed.
