Tim Colceri wears an unidentified watch

"How can you shoot women and children?" Joker asks. "Easy — you just don't lead 'em so much." The helicopter scene in Full Metal Jacket is barely two minutes long, but it bridges the film's Parris Island and Hue City halves better than any exposition could. Tim Colceri plays the unnamed door gunner, and the casting has its own story: Kubrick originally considered Colceri for Gunnery Sergeant Hartman before R. Lee Ermey's improvised audition tape changed everything. Colceri got this smaller role instead.

The door gunner wears a dark-cased watch on his right wrist, visible as he handles the M60. Door gunners in Vietnam were assigned the most exposed position on a Huey — sitting behind an open door at altitude with no armor. Their watches were personal purchases, same as any other serviceman's. The brand hasn't been identified.
