Kubrick shot Full Metal Jacket entirely in England. Kevyn Major Howard plays Rafterman, the combat photographer embedded with Joker's squad in the film's second half. He starts as a rear-echelon journalist desperate to see real action, and by the final sniper sequence he's gotten more than he bargained for.

Rafterman wears a watch that isn't clearly visible in the available still. For a military journalist in 1968 Vietnam, the most likely options are whatever was available at the post exchange — Seiko automatics, Timex mechanicals, or Benrus field watches were the most common PX purchases among American servicemen.
