The Rip is Joe Carnahan's Miami crime thriller, the one Netflix released in January 2026 with Matt Damon and Ben Affleck at the top of the bill. The story, loosely based on a real Miami-Dade police captain, drops a narcotics unit into a stash house holding twenty-four million dollars in cash and lets the team turn on each other. Teyana Taylor plays one of the detectives, Numa Baptistie.
In a squad-room scene she sits in a chair, badge on a chain, a sidearm on her hip, one hand on the arm of the chair. On that wrist is a blacked-out chronograph: a dark round case with pushers, a black dial, and a single bright arrow of a hand, on a black bracelet, worn next to a heavy silver ring.
The watch forums that dug into this film spent their time on Matt Damon's wrist and never reached Teyana Taylor's. No logo is readable in the frame, and no costume credit names the piece. It is plainly a black tactical chronograph; the brand is unconfirmed.
