Telly Savalas wears a Patek Philippe Ellipse

At Piz Gloria, a mountaintop clinic that claims to study allergies, Blofeld is running a finishing school for the end of the world. Telly Savalas plays the SPECTRE chief in On Her Majesty's Secret Service (1969), brainwashing a dozen young women, his Angels of Death, to carry Virus Omega out into the world and sterilize its food supply unless his demands are met. George Lazenby plays Bond for the only time, having declined a contract for more films, and the picture gives 007 the one thing no other entry does: a wedding, to Diana Rigg's Tracy.

The Patek Philippe Ellipse attributed to Blofeld is the thinnest identification in this film's watch lore. The hero's wrists are documented to the reference: Eon Productions bought Lazenby a Rolex chronograph reference 6238 for the part, and he wears a Submariner 5513 while cracking a safe with a Playboy for company. For the villain there is nothing comparable. The only source that puts the oval Patek on Savalas is a YouTube commentary on Bond villains' watches, and the written authorities on Bond timepieces do not mention Blofeld's wrist at all. The Ellipse itself is real enough, launched by Patek Philippe in 1968 with an oval case drawn from the golden ratio, brand new on the market the year the film was shot, so the timeline allows it. Whether one was actually on the mountain remains an assertion in a video, waiting for a frame to prove it.
