Selma Blair plays Cecile Caldwell in Cruel Intentions, a naive incoming student at an elite Manhattan prep school who becomes a pawn in the sexual games played by Sarah Michelle Gellar's Kathryn and Ryan Phillippe's Sebastian. Roger Kumble's 1999 film is a modern update of Les Liaisons Dangereuses set among wealthy teenagers with too much time and too few morals. Blair's Cecile is sweet and clueless, the kind of innocent the film's schemers enjoy corrupting, and her scenes with Gellar include a kiss that became one of the movie's most talked-about moments.
Cecile wears a small gold watch on a bracelet, visible when she's sitting on the floor of the Valmont townhouse in a red floral dress, holding a Diet Coke. It is the kind of thing a wealthy teenager's mother would buy her — age-appropriate and completely ignored. Blair plays Cecile as someone perpetually two steps behind everyone else, which makes her corruption both funny and a little sad. The watch brand has not been identified.
