Tony Stark, a billionaire who builds his own armored suits, spends a stretch of Iron Man 3 telling the time off a Dora the Explorer watch. After his Malibu house is destroyed and he washes up in Rose Hill, Tennessee, he falls in with a ten-year-old named Harley Keener, who lends him his little sister's watch.
In close-up, the case is translucent red plastic, faceted like a cut gem, and the round white dial shows Dora standing among cartoon flowers, with a small rectangular LCD window set into the middle. It is the ten-dollar drugstore kind of children's watch, licensed off the Nick Jr cartoon, and no maker or catalogue reference for the exact prop is on record.
The watch's payoff comes while Stark is being held captive. Its faint clicking gets under the skin of one of the villain's bodyguards, a long-haired heavy Stark has taken to calling Ponytail Express, who finally grabs his wrist and smashes it. Stark, unbothered, says it belonged to Harley's kid sister and tells the man he will kill him for it. The film later has him buy Harley a replacement.
