In Marvel Studios' production photography for The Avengers (2012), Tony Stark is bent over a workbench in safety glasses, sleeves pushed up, working a tool across the battle-scuffed gold faceplate of an Iron Man helmet. Robert Downey Jr.'s Stark is the billionaire of the team, and the film hands him its climax: he carries a nuclear missile through a wormhole above Manhattan and nearly dies doing it. The still catches him at the bench instead, and on his left wrist, half in shadow, sits a dark titanium watch on a matching bracelet.
The watch is the Hamilton Khaki Field Titanium Auto, reference H70565133. Hamilton documents the placement itself: the company's page for the reference carries the line featured in The Avengers, worn by Tony Stark, played by Robert Downey Jr. It is a 42 millimeter titanium field watch with a black dial, water resistant to 100 meters, and it listed for 995 dollars. Hamilton supplied watches to more than one Avenger that year. Chris Evans's Captain America wears the Khaki Field Auto in the same film; Stark's is the titanium execution of the same field-watch idea.
Hamilton has since moved the reference to its past collection and no longer offers it. On its official Facebook account, though, the company counts the model among the movie highlights of its Museum Collection: the Khaki Field Titanium that, in Hamilton's own phrasing, starred in The Avengers on the wrist of Iron Man.
