Chris Evans wears a Hamilton Khaki Field

Steve Rogers spends his civilian scenes in The Avengers (2012) dressed out of another era: checked shirts, high-waisted pleat-front trousers, an old-fashioned brown leather jacket. Chris Evans plays a super-soldier who went into the Arctic ice in 1945 and woke up in a New York seventy years along, and the costuming keeps him visibly behind the times of everyone around him. On his wrist is a Hamilton Khaki Field Auto, reference H70555533: 42 millimeters of stainless steel, a black dial with a date at three, a brown leather strap.

Hamilton documents the placement itself: the company's page for the reference carries the line featured in The Avengers, worn by Steve Rogers, played by Chris Evans. The brand describes its Khaki Field line as drawing on the watches it supplied to thousands of American troops, and Rogers is written as exactly that kind of soldier. Hamilton outfitted two Avengers in the film. Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark wears the titanium version of the same field watch; Rogers wears the steel one on leather.

Stark's titanium reference has since been retired to Hamilton's past collection. The steel H70555533 is still in the current line, and its product page carries the Avengers placement note fourteen years after the film.
