Richard Gere wears a Hamilton Ardmore

Mira Nair's Amelia (2009) casts Richard Gere as George Putnam, the publisher and promoter who married Amelia Earhart, played by Hilary Swank, and built much of her public fame. In close shots, Putnam wears a slim rectangular gold dress watch with a light dial, the kind of Art Deco piece a businessman of the early 1930s would have worn. Its shape is consistent with the Hamilton Ardmore, a rectangular model from the brand's American Classics line, but the brand is not legible on screen and no published source identifies the watch Putnam wears. The identification rests on the form of the watch alone.
