Patrick Bruel wears an Audemars Piguet Royal Oak

Patrick Bruel plays Fontaine in Bernard Stora's Villa Caprice (2021), a powerful businessman under investigation for how he acquired the title property, opposite Niels Arestrup as the attorney Luc Germon and Irene Jacob as his wife. The French watch site Montres-de-luxe identified the watch as a steel Audemars Piguet Royal Oak, visible in many scenes, and explained the wrist in a single line: "Patrick Bruel, a lover of fine watches, is among the friends of the Brassus manufacture."

Bruel is the rare French star whose resume holds both platinum records and a World Series of Poker bracelet, won in 1998 in the 5,000 dollar Limit Hold'em event for 224,000 dollars, with Erik Seidel among the players he beat; he later co-founded the poker site Winamax. The Royal Oak he wears is the watch Gerald Genta designed overnight in 1971 when Audemars Piguet asked for a steel sports watch without precedent: launched in 1972, its bezel held by exposed screws Genta traced to a diver's helmet, and priced like gold despite the steel. His lawyer, in the same film, wears a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso turned caseback-out.
