The still on this record has William Tell at the poker table behind his stacked chips, and on his left wrist, on its integrated steel bracelet, sits a Piaget Polo S with a grey dial. Paul Schrader's The Card Counter (2021) gives Oscar Isaac the role of a former military interrogator who learned to count cards in prison after Abu Ghraib and now grinds the low-stakes circuit, shrouding the furniture of every motel room he stays in. Time+Tide's Zach Blass identified the watch from the trailer: 42 millimeters of steel in the Polo's cushion-within-a-circle shape, 9.4 millimeters thick, with Piaget's manufacture calibre 110P and a 50 hour power reserve inside, and he added one stylist's note, that Isaac should "take a link out for a more snug fit."

The Polo is the line Piaget launched in 1979 as its integrated-bracelet sports watch, and the Polo S is the modern steel automatic version, water resistant to 100 meters. Isaac knew the model before Schrader's cameras found it: at the 2018 Oscars, presenting the Best Animated Short award with Mark Hamill and Kelly Marie Tran, he wore the same watch, which Tatler described as "a steel case stunner with luminescent markers on its anthracite-grey guilloche dial."
