Before the rockets and the car chases and the green poison gas, Stanley Goodspeed sits shirtless on a couch playing guitar. Nicolas Cage plays an FBI chemical weapons specialist in Michael Bay's The Rock (1996), and this early scene is the only quiet moment the character gets before Ed Harris's rogue general seizes Alcatraz and threatens to launch nerve gas into San Francisco. Cage is paired with Sean Connery's escaped federal prisoner (the only man who ever broke out of Alcatraz), and the film runs on the contrast between Goodspeed's nervous competence and Connery's unflappable cool.
A watch is visible on Cage's left wrist in this scene, with a dark strap and a small round case. Goodspeed is a lab guy, not a field agent, and the watch looks like something a scientist would own: unpretentious, probably bought at a department store counter. The watch has not been identified.
