Alfred Pennyworth is not a butler. He served in the British Army before joining the Wayne household, and Christopher Nolan's trilogy refuses to let the audience forget it. Michael Caine plays Alfred across all three films as a man who has seen more violence than Bruce Wayne and has stronger views about how to handle it. The watch on his wrist tracks with that backstory.
The Traser H3 Black Storm Pro is a Swiss tactical watch with permanently glowing tritium gas tubes embedded in the dial. Traser developed the technology in the 1980s for the Swiss Army and licenses it to other military-issue manufacturers. The H3 designation refers to the radioactive hydrogen isotope sealed inside the tritium tubes, which produce a low-level glow for roughly twenty-five years without needing to be charged by light. Black PVD-coated case, black dial, rubber strap, designed to survive the kinds of environments Alfred Pennyworth would have known professionally.
Nolan and the costume designer skipped the obvious dress watch for Alfred and gave him a piece that signals what the character used to do. In Batman Begins, the trilogy is still building the foundation of who these people are. The Traser is one of the quieter pieces of that foundation. Bruce Wayne wears a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso because he is performing wealth. Alfred wears a Traser because he is not performing anything.
