Early in The Bourne Identity (2002), Matt Damon's amnesiac operative opens a Zurich safe-deposit box and finds stacks of cash, a row of passports in different names, and a gun, the first hard clues to whatever life he had before a fishing crew pulled him from the Mediterranean with two bullets in his back. Doug Liman directed, from Tony Gilroy's adaptation of Robert Ludlum's novel.
On his wrist through all of it is a TAG Heuer Link Chronograph, reference CT1111.BA0550, released in 2001: a 42mm quartz chronograph on the Link's S-shaped steel bracelet. It is a mid-range piece, a few thousand dollars rather than a luxury statement. Wrist Enthusiast, cataloguing the franchise's watches, notes the Bourne films were never as meticulous about timepieces as the Bond pictures, and the Link reads that way, a capable, unshowy chronograph rather than a signature.
