Luke Grimes wears a Suunto Core All Black

Luke Grimes plays Marc Lee in American Sniper, the first US Navy SEAL killed in combat in Iraq. Lee died in Ramadi in August 2006, at twenty-eight, while drawing enemy fire away from his team, and was awarded the Silver Star, the Bronze Star with Valor, and the Purple Heart. Clint Eastwood adapted the film from Chris Kyle's autobiography, and Lee's death is one it does not look away from.

On Lee's wrist is a Suunto Core All Black, the blacked-out version of Suunto's ABC watch, which fits an altimeter, barometer, and compass into a digital case rated to thirty meters. Suunto is a Finnish company with a long military history, and the Core became a real tactical favorite: US special operations units, AFSOC and USSOCOM among them, placed procurement orders for it, and at least one Navy SEAL has been photographed wearing one on deployment.
