Lance Henriksen wears an unidentified watch

Lance Henriksen owns the most famous watch in the Alien franchise, and he is not wearing it here.

In Aliens (1986) he played Bishop, the synthetic, and Seiko built him an asymmetric Giugiaro chronograph, the 7A28-6000, that collectors now chase for serious money. Six years later he turns up again at the end of David Fincher's Alien 3 (1992), this time as a character the credits call Bishop II. He claims to be the human engineer who designed the android in his own image, arrived on Fiorina 161 with a Weyland-Yutani rescue team to take the alien growing inside Ripley. Whether he is telling the truth, whether he is even human, is a question the film deliberately refuses to answer.

So it is fitting, almost too fitting, that nobody can tell you what is on his wrist.

The watch-spotting world has documented the Alien watches down to the reference number, and it carries a standing warning about this one: the Seiko everyone associates with Lance Henriksen belongs to Bishop the android, in the previous film, and gets hung on Bishop II by mistake all the time. The watch he actually wears in Alien 3 has never been identified. In the one clear still of his arrival he is a silhouette in a bright doorway, a coat and a briefcase and little else, the team behind him in white hazmat suits and the light blowing out every detail a watch would need to be read.

There is no trick to recover here, no leather cover hiding a dial, no doubled Casio. There is just a man who may not be a man, holding a briefcase in a doorway, wearing a watch the movie was never interested in showing you. For a character built entirely out of what you cannot confirm, it is the right accessory.
