Kevin O'Leary wears a Patek Philippe Hourglass

Marty Mauser comes to London to win the British Open, is unhappy with the players' barracks, and checks into the Ritz instead. There he seduces Kay Stone, a wealthy retired actress played by Gwyneth Paltrow, and meets her husband: Milton Rockwell, one of the wealthiest men in America, played by the Shark Tank investor Kevin O'Leary. In Josh Safdie's Marty Supreme (2025), which took nine nominations at the 98th Academy Awards, Timothée Chalamet's Marty sells shoes in his uncle Murray's New York shop and plays professional table tennis on the side.

Rockwell takes an interest in Marty and his sport, on his own terms. He offers an exhibition match in Tokyo, and Marty angrily refuses when he learns he would be expected to throw it to please the Japanese audience. Later, Rockwell agrees to help only after making Marty submit to a public spanking. O'Leary has described the character as a vampire who would bite Marty's neck and put him in hell in perpetuity.

The Patek Philippe Hour Glass is O'Leary's own watch, bought for the role. He has said he does not do props, and that he told Safdie he had to own the watches. He wore it as one of two vintage pieces on screen at once, both on red straps, the other a 1950s Seiko, and he described the Patek as costing a crazy price. A surviving example, originally sold in November 1952 and documented with its archive extract, shows the type: 18-karat yellow gold, 39 millimeters long and 22 wide, manual wind, a silvered dial, small seconds at six o'clock. The two-watch habit had its own scene, which Safdie cut: Rockwell pitches Marty that if he follows instructions, one day he too will be able to wear two watches, with two time zones, and be that successful. O'Leary loved the scene; Safdie, he says, obviously did not.
