In a Florida bar lit red, Matty Walker lets Ned Racine buy her a drink and begin his own undoing. Body Heat (1981) was Kathleen Turner's first film, made when she was 26, and she plays Matty as a woman always two moves ahead of the lawyer she is steering toward killing her husband, Edmund, played by Richard Crenna. Lawrence Kasdan directed it as his first feature.

On Matty's wrist, in the bar and again in the night scenes, is a rectangular watch in yellow gold on a dark leather strap, the silhouette Louis Cartier gave the Tank in 1917. No watch writer has documented the prop and the brand never reads clearly on screen, so the identification rests on that unmistakable shape and on a French watch-in-film column that calls it a Cartier Tank in yellow gold.
