Graham Simpkins is not the kind of romantic lead you expect to cry. Jude Law plays him in Nancy Meyers's The Holiday (2006) as a charming book editor who shows up at his sister's Surrey cottage and finds Cameron Diaz's Amanda already living there. He's handsome and funny and seems like the uncomplicated British love interest until the film reveals he's a widower raising two young daughters, at which point Law gets to do something he rarely does: play vulnerable without any edge.
A gold dress watch has been noted on Law's wrist in the film, though it isn't visible in this promotional image. For a character like Graham — professional, well-off, but not ostentatious — a simple gold dress watch makes sense. Meyers designed her characters' lives down to the kitchen fixtures, so whatever's on Graham's wrist was probably chosen deliberately. The specific make and model haven't been determined.
