Christopher Nolan directed Tenet, a film about a CIA operative who discovers that objects and people can have their entropy inverted, causing them to move backward through time. John David Washington plays the Protagonist, who is never given another name. Robert Pattinson plays Neil, his handler. Elizabeth Debicki plays Kat, the estranged wife of the villain. Kenneth Branagh plays the villain, a Russian arms dealer dying of cancer who wants to destroy the world out of spite. The film was released during the COVID-19 pandemic and made $363 million, which was considered disappointing for a Nolan production.
The Protagonist wears a Hamilton Khaki Navy BeLOWZERO Auto in titanium with black PVD coating. It is a 46mm dive watch rated to 1,000 meters with a helium escape valve. The titanium keeps it light despite the size. In a film obsessed with the mechanics of time, putting a specific watch on the main character matters more than usual. The BeLOWZERO is Hamilton's most extreme dive watch, and on a character navigating inverted entropy and temporal pincer movements, the name alone has a dark humor to it.
