John C. Reilly wears a Rolex

Cal Naughton Jr. throws a thumbs-up across a pool hall, decked out in a red, white, and blue polo and an Old Spice cap, the picture of a man who has made some money and wants you to know it. John C. Reilly plays Ricky Bobby's number-two driver and best friend in Adam McKay's Talladega Nights, the loyal sidekick who will follow Ricky anywhere, including straight off a cliff. He has done well on the NASCAR circuit, and he dresses to show it, down to the gold ring and the watch on his wrist.

The watch is a two-tone Rolex, steel and yellow gold, on an Oyster-style bracelet with gold links running down the center. The dial stays turned away in the shot, so the exact model never quite gives itself up, but the two-tone gold and steel is the whole point. It is the most Cal watch imaginable, a Rolex that has decided to be a little flashier than it strictly needs to be, gold where a plain tool watch would leave it off. On a stock-car driver flush with sponsor money in a Talladega bar, it lands exactly right.
