Jesse Plemons wears a Cartier Santos de Cartier

A wealthy CEO and his wife arrive at their vacation home to find a burglar inside. The conversation that follows ends with the two of them locked in the sauna while the burglar decides whether to take the deal CEO just offered him. Jesse Plemons plays CEO - the character has no other name in the credits - in Charlie McDowell's Windfall (2022). CEO made his money on an algorithm that helps companies fire people, which is partly why the burglar is there. On his wrist throughout the standoff is a Cartier Santos Dumont with a silver dial on a blue leather strap.

The Santos Dumont is the watch Louis Cartier built in 1904 for the Brazilian aviator Alberto Santos-Dumont, who wanted a way to tell time without taking his hands off the controls of his airship. It was one of the first wristwatches Cartier made. The version Plemons wears looks like the modern reissue, the one Cartier brought out to bring the line back in line with the early-1900s originals: slender Roman numerals, sunray silver dial, exposed screws on the bezel, a square case that's basically been the Santos Dumont's shape for over a century. The strap on CEO's wrist isn't the Cartier OEM piece - it's a plainer blue leather strap on a basic pin buckle. Either the prop department dressed it down or CEO did.
