The Raid 2 is two and a half hours of people destroying each other in a muddy prison yard, a restaurant kitchen, and a speeding car, and somewhere inside it is a watch campaign. Iko Uwais returns as Rama, the cop from the first film, now sent undercover into a Jakarta crime family, pretending to be someone he is not for the length of the movie.

The watch is a Hamilton Pan Europ Chronograph, a steel automatic chronograph that Hamilton revived from a 1970s design. You see it best in a quiet moment, when Rama zips up a track jacket in a bright office and the chronograph and its bracelet catch the light on his wrist. It is not an accident. Rama wore a Hamilton in the first film too, and for the sequel the brand's Indonesian distributor, Time International, equipped the cast.

So the watches multiply. Oka Antara's character wears a Hamilton Khaki X-Patrol, and Hamilton shares the screen with Corum, which makes its own debut in the film. For a story that is mostly fists and machetes, an unusual number of wrists are carrying Swiss watches, and Rama's vintage-style chronograph is the one on the lead.
