George Clooney wears an Omega Speedmaster

A young man dies in a Manhattan district attorney's hotel room, and her panicked phone call summons a professional fixer, played by George Clooney. The closing credits identify him only as Margaret's Man, though Apple's own production materials call the two leads Jack and Nick, the names the crew used on set. Nick is Brad Pitt's rival fixer, dispatched to the same room by an unseen voice named Pam, and the two spend the film refusing to share a job either could handle alone. Jon Watts wrote and directed Wolfs (2024), his first picture after the three Marvel Spider-Man films; Amy Ryan plays Margaret, and Frances McDormand is heard but never seen as Pam.

On the Clooney fixer's wrist is the Omega Speedmaster Professional, reference 310.30.42.50.01.001: the Hesalite-crystal Moonwatch, 42 millimeters, on the fully brushed five-link bullet bracelet Omega had introduced not long before, with the Co-Axial Master Chronometer Calibre 3861 inside, rated from zero to plus five seconds a day, behind a solid caseback. The nickname is earned history: the Speedmaster is the first and only watch NASA certified for all of its manned missions, where crews relied on it for the manual timing of burn sequences.

Pitt's fixer wears the other half of the pairing, a steel Breitling Chronomat Automatic GMT 40 with a black dial, reference A32398101B1A1, from a brand Pitt was then an ambassador for. The film itself had a rougher landing than either wrist: Apple planned a wide theatrical release, pivoted to a limited one on September 20, 2024 with streaming a week later, and watched it become Apple TV plus's most viewed film anyway. Watts, displeased with the pivot, declined to make the sequel.
