Dan Cheung miscalculated once. The infamous thief went to prison for it, and The Adventurers (2017) picks him up five years later as he enlists his longtime partner Po Chen and a new recruit, Red Ye, to steal precious jewels across Europe, a spree that runs from Cannes to Prague with Jean Reno's Detective Pierre Bissette a step behind. Stephen Fung directed and produced alongside his star Andy Lau, shooting in France and the Czech Republic in the summer of 2016. Eric Tsang plays King Kong, the underworld fixture who is a father figure to Cheung, the man a thief visits between jobs.

The French site Montres-de-Luxe identified a Rolex Datejust II on Tsang's wrist, and that single line is the entire published record: no metal, no dial, no scene, and no second outlet ever covered it. The Datejust II itself is easy to date. Rolex introduced it in 2009 as the 41mm enlargement of its everyday classic and retired it around 2016 when the redesigned Datejust 41 took its place, so the watch belongs to a narrow seven-year window that happens to include the film's production. None of the available stills puts Tsang's wrist in frame, so the identification rests on the French report alone.
