Edan Lui wears a Bulgari Octo Finissimo

Vincent Ma builds frankenwatches, antique watches assembled from vintage parts sourced from different pieces, and that skill is why the crime lord Uncle calls on him. Edan Lui plays Vincent in The Moon Thieves, Steve Yuen's heist film released for Chinese New Year on February 9, 2024: a crew is assembled to steal three Picasso watches from a Tokyo dealership and leave replicas in their place, while Vincent's own dream is to find the lost Moonwatch that Buzz Aldrin wore on the moon. Lui is one of three members of the Cantopop group MIRROR in the cast, with Anson Lo and Keung To, and the film finished fifth among Hong Kong releases of 2024, taking more than 27.5 million Hong Kong dollars.

Vincent wears a Bulgari Octo Finissimo in titanium. Titanium is the preferred metal of the whole Finissimo line, and the line built its reputation on thinness records: the Tourbillon of 2014 held two at once, the thinnest tourbillon movement at 1.95 millimeters inside the thinnest tourbillon watch at 5 millimeters; the Automatic of 2017 became the thinnest automatic watch at 5.15 millimeters with a 2.23 millimeter movement, a record Piaget took back the same year; the Chronograph GMT of 2019 carried the thinnest mechanical chronograph movement at 3.3 millimeters. The angular Octo case draws its inspiration from the Basilica of Maxentius in Rome, and Bulgari describes the line as the slim-fit shirt of watchmaking. The house itself began as a Roman jewelry firm, founded by the Greek silversmith Sotirios Voulgaris in 1884, and entered watchmaking in earnest in 1977.

No version or reference has been published for Vincent's watch; the identification stops at the model and the titanium. The film puts him behind the counter of the Loi Bo Watch Company, a storefront with its name in gold characters over a wall of old clocks, and in that frame his wrist stays out of sight. Keung To's Uncle, in the same film, wears a steel Audemars Piguet Royal Oak.
