Howard Stark spends Captain America: The First Avenger building the future. Dominic Cooper plays Tony Stark's father as a 1940s showman and weapons engineer, the man who helps turn skinny Steve Rogers into a super-soldier. In one scene he leans over a workbench beside Rogers, both hands flat on the experimental shield, and a glint of gold shows at his cuff.
A Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso would fit both the man and the decade. JLC launched the Reverso in 1931 for polo players who wanted to flip the case over and protect the crystal, and by the 1940s it was an established dress watch. But no source documents a Reverso, or any particular watch, on Howard Stark in this film, and in the clearest frame his shirt cuff hides most of the case. You can make out gold and a dark strap. That is not enough to name it.
