Denzel Washington wears a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso

Denzel Washington plays Frank Lucas in Ridley Scott's American Gangster (2007), the Harlem heroin kingpin who undercut his competition by importing the drug straight from Southeast Asia. On his wrist is a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso, most likely the two-faced Duoface, the rectangular watch whose case flips on its track. JLC built that hinge in 1931 so polo players could turn the crystal face-down, out of harm's way.

Staying invisible was the whole strategy, which the real Lucas broke exactly once: he turned up to the 1971 Ali-Frazier fight in a floor-length chinchilla coat and a ringside seat better than the Mafia bosses had, and the photographs helped put investigators onto him.
