Daniel Craig wears an Omega Seamaster

Sam Mendes directed Skyfall as Bond's fiftieth-anniversary film, and he brought a mood to the franchise that it hadn't had before: elegiac, autumnal, and willing to let Bond lose. Craig's Bond gets shot by his own colleague in the pre-title sequence, fails his fitness evaluation when he returns, and ends the film watching M die in his childhood home in Scotland. Roger Deakins shot it like a prestige drama, and the box office responded, $1.1 billion worldwide, the highest-grossing Bond film ever at the time.

The Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean 600M that Bond wears through the action sequences is the standard production reference 232.30.42.21.01.001, not one of the commemorative 007 editions Omega sold around the film. It is a 42mm steel case with a black ceramic bezel and a black dial, the word Seamaster printed in orange and the tip of the seconds hand painted to match. The movement is the Co-Axial caliber 8500, carrying the antimagnetic silicon balance spring Omega had introduced a couple of years earlier. Bond wears it during the Istanbul train chase that opens the film, one of the best pre-title sequences in the series.

Omega did sell a 007-logo Skyfall limited edition alongside the film, and it remains sought-after on the secondary market, but the watch actually on Bond's wrist was the standard model. Deakins, for his part, made every frame, including the ones with the watch, look like a painting.
