Statesman introduces itself through Agent Tequila. Channing Tatum plays him in a tan cowboy hat and a denim jacket, and his character poster poses him in front of the agency's supply wall: lever-action shotguns, aviators, branded flasks, and bottles of Statesman tequila and bourbon, with a steel TAG Heuer Monaco peeking out of the denim cuff, blue dial and white register just visible. Time+Tide pinned Tatum's watch exactly, the Monaco Calibre 11, reference CAW211P, part of the TAG Heuer partnership that put the Connected smartwatch on the British agents and the mechanical Monaco on the Americans.
The Monaco is the company's most storied square. Jack Heuer introduced it in 1969, simultaneously in Geneva and New York, as the first square-cased water-resistant chronograph, running the new automatic Calibre 11. Steve McQueen wore one through Le Mans in 1971, and his reference 1133 has carried the nickname McQueen Monaco ever since. Time+Tide's reviewer, a Monaco owner himself, confessed to being "continually delighted by the screen time afforded to the big square bad boy."
Tequila himself barely gets to enjoy the assignment. He develops a blue rash and signs of mania from the Golden Circle's poisoned product, and Whiskey replaces him as Eggsy's partner for the rest of the mission. He returns for the ending, taking an exchange assignment at Kingsman, which acquires a new tailor shop in London.
